About Sarah

Hi there, I’m Sarah. I graduated from Trinity College University of Dublin with a First Class Honours degree in German Language and Theatre Studies. My degree has given me a vast insight into German literature while living in Germany has given me a grasp of the language and the culture that goes beyond the book. Being surrounded by the language day-in-day-out means oral skills are my top priority. Often disregarded in the classroom, my goal is to put each student at ease speaking the language. My work in the theatre has shown me the importance of all kinds of learning techniques and given me the skills to meet the needs of all kinds of learners, no two the same. I’m a strong believer in facing the curriculum and the examination process head-on and working towards the goals at hand. I have been supporting language learners for several years. I have years of experience working with school curriculums and exams, as well as teaching casual learners for their own enjoyment. I have taught English as a foreign language while living in Germany. Till October ’22 I was a lecturer of Advanced Conversational English at the University of Rostock, Germany. No matter how young or old, I look forward to helping each individual find their way through this fantastic language.

About the lesson

My classes are about the cornerstone upon which written language is based: speaking! They’re about grasping the language from all directions; they’re about flexibility and understanding, about sounds and pronunciation. Speaking the language is the only way to get it on the ear and the best way to a thorough understanding of the language as a whole. I teach online at a time that suits you, on a platform that suits you and for a duration that suits you. I often recommend two 30-minute classes in a week as it’s the best way to introduce, practice and repeat new language. The goal is to make it easier for you. And that’s exactly what we’ll do!
