About Harry
Harry Hukasian is a lyric baritone of Armenian origin, currently based in Germany. Since the 2026–2027 season, he has been a soloist at the Landestheater Detmold and a member of its opera ensemble. His current repertoire includes Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème, Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, Dr. Malatesta in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Balstrode in Britten’s Peter Grimes, and Jef Riedel in Saariaho’s L’Amour de loin. He recently appeared at the Immling Festival, where he performed the role of Renato in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. He was the youngest participant in the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and St. Petersburg and also participated in the International Opera Festival in Minsk, where he performed Prince Yeletsky. His operatic repertoire includes a wide range of leading roles, including Prince Yeletsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades, Onegin in Eugene Onegin, Roberto in Iolanta, Silvio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Figaro in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème, Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, the Venetian Guest in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sadko, and Wolfram in Wagner’s Tannhäuser. He studied vocal performance at the Odessa Music Academy and has performed extensively in opera productions, concerts, and festivals in Europe.

I began teaching singing at the age of 23. Over the past 11 years, I have conducted more than 5,000 vocal lessons and worked with all types of voices, with a particular focus on baritones and tenors. My main goal is to help you discover your natural voice and develop your full vocal potential. Every voice is unique, and I believe that each voice requires an individual technical approach. I work with singers of all levels, from beginners to advanced students, adapting each lesson to their individual needs. Lessons last 45–60 minutes. My schedule is flexible and arranged individually, with lessons mainly taking place in the evenings. I speak Russian, English, Ukrainian, and a little Chinese. I will help you understand your voice, discover its natural potential, and develop it in a healthy and effective way.
