About Mikayla

Bonjour! I’m an Ontario Certified Teacher and currently teach Grade 2 French Immersion with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). I’ve been teaching French Immersion for the past three years and have experience working with students in Grades 2–8 in both French Immersion and Core French.

French has always been a part of my life, with much of my family coming from Québec. I’ve always had a love for the language and culture, and it’s something I really enjoy sharing with my students!

As a classroom teacher, I know that learning French can be challenging at times, but I also know how rewarding it can be. I love finding fun and creative ways to help students feel more comfortable speaking French, build their confidence, and enjoy learning along the way.

I’m looking forward to helping more students grow their French skills and hopefully develop the same love for the language that I have!

About the lesson

My goal is to make learning French fun, engaging, and accessible while helping students build confidence in their language skills!

I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, interests, and learning goals. I incorporate games, interactive activities, conversations, and targeted reading and writing practice to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

Each lesson is designed around the student’s needs, whether that’s reviewing classroom concepts, strengthening reading and writing skills, practising oral communication, or building confidence in French.

I offer tutoring for students in Grades 2–8 in both French Immersion and Core French. Above all, I want students to feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn French!
