About Jamie
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience in teaching all 3 instruments from beginner level to post-grade 8 level, with ages ranging from 7 years to mature adult. I have taught privately for 10 years and have been teaching in Primary and Secondary schools since 2014.
As well as a private tutor, I am a working profession musician, mostly in the field of musical theatre, but also regularly performing in events in the pop music industry.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I Studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under Christian Forshaw, Mick Foster, Nick Moss and Martin Robertson from 2010-2016.

I studied for 6 years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I completed my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach saxophone, flute and clarinet.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Master's degree (distinction) in advanced instrumental studies from the Guildhall school of Music and Drama, majoring in Saxophone.
I have a BMus (Hons) degree in performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
- How much do you charge?
£45 per hour lesson
£35 per 40 minute lesson

- Where do you teach?
Currently I offer tuition online only via Zoom, as I work in many locations as a professional player. I have become very accustomed to teaching my pupils online since the pandemic and have found ways to make it as beneficial as teaching in person, without the obvious risks involved around covid.
To make the most of learning online, please ensure you have a good and stable internet connection, and sufficient speakers/microphone to communicate well in lessons. I'm also willing to chat about any questions you may have over Skype before commencing lessons.
- When are you available?
Due to my irregular schedule as a freelance musician, please contact me to come to an arrangement. I tend to be very flexible in terms of lesson times.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Saxophone - all ages and abilities from beginner up to post grade 8 level
Flute and Clarinet - all ages and abilities from beginner to grade 8 level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If students wish to take examinations, I have experience using both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall examining boards.
