About Ellyn

At Superprof, I have over a year of experience. I am HSK 5 (C1) certified. With experience learning a direct course in Nanjing-China for 1 year, followed by working for 4 years in Shanghai-China. I am used to living in a multinational and multicultural environment. So that, I can also share my experiences as an Expat in China, both in my daily life and others. In addition, my previous career background as trade and global marketing in China, has familiarized me with meeting, interacting, negotiating directly and even carrying out joint projects with local Chinese colleagues.

Mandarin is IMPORTANT (this statement is based on my own observations in the current career / professional environment). There have been a lot of people from Western countries who are even proficient in Mandarin as their second / third language. Therefore, despite field skills (eg scientist, IT, marketing, etc), using a translator may be a solution for some. But when we get to know a new language, we get a lot of things such as culture, habits, etc. Those what make us easy to make friends and even run a business together. Because they feel “familiarity”.

About the lesson

Learning Chinese can be fun without feeling bored and stressed, because what I will share is not only the language factor, but also the cultural factor of the environment in China. Teaching materials for beginner level, will be focused on daily dialogue to cultivate a sense of “habit”. But for advance level, I’m focusing on HSK too. One of the goals in my course is to develop confidence in speaking without neglecting correct and accurate word structures.

I am easy to adjust to in teaching, both children to adults, even the elderly. Of course the material provided will vary. Because, the teachings I had previously taught me which method of approach was suitable.

After each course, review material will be sent by E-mail in PDF format. Homework will be provided upon request.
