About Gizem

I was born in Istanbul in 1989. In 2015, I graduated as the top student of my class from the Anadolu University State Conservatory Opera Department, and subsequently completed the Music Pedagogical Formation Program at Marmara University. Alongside my academic and stage background, I earned a certificate in Voice and Breathing Techniques from Sakarya University and completed the Ministry of National Education (MEB) accredited "Voiceover and Dubbing" program at Başkent Communication Academy. In 2017, I had the honor of representing Türkiye on stage and serving as a jury member at the Art Football Festival held in Moscow.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is approaching voice and music not merely as mechanical repetition, but as an inseparable whole of the nervous system, psychology, and body mechanics. Voice production and breath flow reflexively lock up during moments of stress, anxiety, or performance pressure. Therefore, in an atmosphere where students feel completely relaxed, safe, and free from judgment, we focus on releasing involuntary muscular tension across the jaw, tongue root, neck, and posture.

In this framework, I conduct my work across three main pillars:

*Voice Training & Vocal Health: Based on vocal anatomy, posture, and biomechanics, our main goal is to reach your most natural tone with complete physical ease and without straining the throat. We focus on using the voice fatigue-free, expressively, and confidently in both singing and speaking. In cases of non-surgical functional hoarseness or vocal fatigue, we aim to gradually restore the voice to its healthy and comfortable balance.

*Ear Training & Auditory Coordination: We completely leave behind the fear of "I am tone-deaf, I sing out of tune, I can't match pitch." Having a musical ear is not an unchangeable, innate talent; it is the shared memory of auditory perception and vocal muscles. Our primary goal is to safely build the ability to accurately hear and produce pitches from scratch through practical pitch-matching and auditory exercises tailored to your needs.

*Piano Education: Our core principle is to build a fluid playing practice by staying true to the natural anatomy of the body and hands—without tensing the fingers and wrists—using body weight and center of gravity effortlessly.

Over the years, through one-on-one online lessons adapted for the digital environment, I have been guiding a joyful and sustainable journey for students worldwide with diverse goals (those who believe they have "no ear for music," aspiring singers, individuals experiencing vocal fatigue, and complete piano beginners).

To make progress permanent and positively transform muscle habits, I share personalized digital exercises and resources for home practice after each lesson. Just as building proper form in sports requires at least 3 regular sessions a week, we solidify new muscle memory in voice and piano through short, regular home practices.

My goal is to help every student discover their own bodily and vocal mechanics, gaining a healthy, confident, independent, and rote-free musical practice.

"I've never tried it before", "Will sheet music be too complicated?", "Are my fingers too tense for the piano?" If you are worried with such thoughts; you can leave all these hesitations behind. For students aged 8 and up (children, teens, and adults), piano education does not have to be a rigid, mechanical, or gloomy process.

My goal is not merely to have you memorize a few pieces, but to make sheet music and sight-singing a natural part of the journey, giving you the independence to comfortably play any piece you desire without needing a teacher by your side.

What We Do in Our Lessons?

*Fluid, relaxed playing techniques using natural body weight without creating unnecessary tension in the fingers, wrists, and shoulders.

*Integrated ear-training exercises designed to make sheet music and music theory a practical map for understanding music, rather than an obstacle.

*Step-by-step, unhurried, engaging exercises supporting brain-hand coordination.

*Legato, staccato, and dynamics work on pieces tailored to your level and musical taste.

Lesson Format:

*Our one-on-one private lessons are conducted via Zoom and last 40 minutes.

*A stable internet connection, a large-screen device (PC/tablet) to view sheet music and materials clearly, headphones to prevent audio feedback and hear instructions clearly, and a camera (mobile phone) positioned to show your posture and the keyboard from a side angle are all that is required.

*After each lesson, I provide weekly practice guidelines so you can work through what we learned at home.

*Whenever you encounter a question or difficulty during practice, feel free to reach out via WhatsApp; I always get back to you promptly.

Do anahtarı.

Kendi müfredatımı yaratarak onu her geçen gün geliştirmek.
