My methodology depends on your skills and your requests. Most students will bring a problem to the screen, and we will work on it together. I use pictures and graphs, or examples pertaining to their own lives. For example, when teaching a student about "interest", I have used the example of them buying a car, and then building an excel spreadsheet with them for each month's payment, and balance....basically a simplified amortization schedule. Or, I would create 2 Car Buying equations as in Systems of equations. We would then find the intersection of the 2 equations, to see which Payment Plan they should select according to their needs as a Buyer. I have an awesome unit circle that explains trig in a nutshell, although I use the interactive Unit Circle that Desmos offers as well.
