About Issie

Hi there!

I'm Issie, an Oxford University graduate with a degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics. I offer one-to-one private tuition for GCSE English Language. I'm looking forward to getting to know you (or your child)!

I'm friendly, approachable, and encouraging. I understand that one of the deciding factors in a student's progress is whether they feel comfortable in lessons, so this is a top priority for me. I ensure students feel confident to ask any question.

My degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics gave me a strong understanding of how language works. Combined with GCSE English Language, I also teach English as a Foreign Language and hold a Level 5 Diploma in TEFL. Thanks to my academic and professional experience, I have a strong grasp of grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and communication, which I draw on to help students improve their writing and analytical skills in GCSE English Language.

About the lesson

I work with students of all abilities, helping them to reach their full potential in their exams. The great thing about private tuition is that I can tailor lessons exactly to students' needs. This is crucial because we can spend time perfecting the details that could make all the difference.

My lessons are ideal for students following the AQA, Edexcel, OCR or Eduqas syllabuses. We can focus on reading comprehension, creative writing, and everything in between to ensure confidence before entering the exam hall.

I achieved grade 9s in both English Language and English Literature at GCSE (2019) and an A* in English Literature at A Level (2021).

I graduated from Oxford with a degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics.

Alongside GCSE tuition, I also teach English as a Foreign Language and hold a Level 5 Diploma in TEFL.

My lessons are 60-minutes long.
