About Jeanne
I'm currently in my first year of university and I've been tutoring for almost 4 years which means that I started out when I was the same age as a lot of my students! Despite starting to learn French many years after my peers, my passion for the language grew and because of this I began scoring quite well at school- even completing my year 10 exams earlier! This made me want to help others who struggled the same way I did by showing that learning French isn’t as hard as a lot of people perceive it to be. Through my experiences, I’ve found that the fact that I’m younger as compared to a lot of other tutors has proved to be a positive as I can help my students relate more to the subject and I also have a closer experience with the system, making my skills more relevant!

I believe that learning a new language doesn't really require an enormous amount work. One just needs to have the patience to work on it little by little and should be open to making mistakes! My primary strategy is to solidify writing and reading skills such as vocabulary and grammar while simultaneously working on listening comprehension and speaking skills that are relevant to the student’s syllabus.
Most of my students are in secondary school or college which is why it's important for me to make them feel like they're not adding on to their already significant workload by working around their style and their history with the language. This has proved to be especially effective in cases where students maybe looking for a crash course a short while before a big exam and I am proud to say that all my pupils have achieved an A or A* equivalent (6 or 7 for IB) so far!
The typical length of a lesson is 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the student’s preference and schedule.
