Hi! I'm an English lit graduate offering engaging online teaching focused on writing skills and literature analysis. Whether you are a pupil looking to improve your essay writing skills, gain more understanding of literary texts, prepare for exams or coursework, I would love to help. I specialise in: Academic and creative writing - essay planning, structuring - coursework development and argument - grammar and vocab improvement - creative writing (poetry, short form and style) Literature analysis - exploring themes, characters, devices and narrative style - understanding context - support with GCSE and A Level coursework. My lessons are tailored to your goals and your own personal improvements. I have experience tutoring a GCSE student in her preparation for coursework. I led my own creative writing workshops two years ago in which I developed strong communication and teaching skills. I am patient, kind, and attentive to your personal needs :) I want to make our lessons enjoyable and at ease. A typical lesson (1 hour) will include firstly a warm up, check-in, queries, and reviewal of recent feedback. Then the main focus area (40 minutes) where we will, for example, work on a specific text and do close reading exercises, collaboratively, to give you the tools to do this outside of our lessons. Discussion of themes, characters, language features; also, what NOT to focus on, how to save time on choosing what to analyse. We may use past paper questions, brainstorm and write a paragraph.
