About Andrew

I am a qualified English educator with more than 36 years’ teaching experience, including matric marking and English cluster moderation. I provide reliable, respectful and well-prepared online lessons tailored to each learner’s needs, goals and level, with professional, constructive feedback.

About the lesson

I am an experienced English teacher and tutor who believes that every learner can improve when lessons are clear, supportive and tailored to their individual needs. My approach is patient, practical and goal-focused. I first identify the learner’s strengths and areas that need attention, then develop lessons that build confidence step by step.

I offer online English lessons for learners in Grades 1–12, with particular experience in senior secondary English, Grades 10–12 revision and matric examination preparation. I assist with English language development, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, assignments, homework, tests, revision and exam preparation.

What makes me unique is my extensive teaching, assessment and learner-support experience. I have taught English in the school sector, marked Gauteng National Senior Certificate examinations and worked as an English Cluster Moderator. This means I understand what is expected in assessments, how marks are awarded and how learners can improve the quality of their written work and examination responses.

My lessons are conducted in English. A typical lesson begins with a short discussion or activity to establish the learner’s understanding of the topic. I then explain the work in a simple, structured way, using examples and guided practice. Learners are given opportunities to ask questions, practise skills and receive constructive feedback. Where necessary, I provide revision exercises, writing tasks and test or exam practice.

My lessons are suitable for learners who need extra support, want to improve their English marks, are preparing for tests or examinations, or simply want to become more confident in reading, writing and communicating in English. I also support learners who need help completing assignments and homework correctly.

I offer flexible online sessions and aim to make every lesson encouraging, productive and relevant to the learner’s goals.
