About Vitor
I'm Vitor, Brazilian, and Portuguese is my mother tongue. I grew up with the language, the culture and the accent that people actually use in Brazil.
My background is in hospitality, where I spent years working with international guests every single day. That taught me two things that make me a better tutor: how to be patient with someone who is struggling in a foreign language, and how to explain things simply until they finally click.
I've lived in Switzerland and I'm currently based abroad, so I know exactly what it feels like to arrive somewhere and not understand a word. I speak English and French fluently alongside Portuguese, which means I can meet you in a language you're comfortable in and guide you from there.
Over the years I've helped friends, colleagues and people around me get started in Portuguese, and I decided to turn that into something structured. I'm reliable, punctual and genuinely invested in my students' progress if you commit to the lessons, I'll commit to getting you speaking.

My lessons are conversation-first. I believe you learn Portuguese by speaking it, not by memorizing verb tables, so from the very first session you'll be saying real sentences out loud.
A typical lesson: we start with 5–10 minutes of warm-up chat in Portuguese at your level, then move to the theme of the day — ordering food, small talk, travel situations, work — where I introduce new vocabulary and just enough grammar to make it click. We practice it in dialogue, I correct you gently as we go, and I finish by sending you a short recap so you can review during the week.
What sets me apart: I'm a native Brazilian, so you learn the language as it's really spoken in Brazil, with the culture and expressions that textbooks skip. I also speak English and French, so beginners are never left stuck — we can always switch back for a quick explanation and then return to Portuguese.
My lessons are for complete beginners, travelers and expats preparing for Brazil, and intermediate learners who understand a lot but freeze when they have to speak. No previous knowledge needed, and no judgment — mistakes are part of the method.
