About Clodagh

Hi! I’m Clodagh, a 20 year old student, studying in Dublin City University and Neoma Business School, Reims, France. I am studying a dual degree in Global Business France.

I love working with students, French is a great passion of mine and I understand it can be challenging for many as a subject. My aim is to make it that bit less stressful and manageable, whilst also hopefully making it an enjoyable to study and learn!

I have previously worked as a French orals language assistant in my former secondary school where I helped a large number of students prepare for their oral through online, one-to-one sessions.

I have also spent extended periods in French studying the language and living with French families, fully immersed in the language. This has allowed me to improve my French greatly and I am now not far off fluency in the language.

I achieved a H1 in my French Leaving Cert exam in 2021. I also achieved an A in my Junior Cert exam in 2018.

In 2022, I worked with a number of students to help them to prepare for all aspects of their Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle French exams.

About the lesson

My approach to lessons varies with the students I am working with. I always aim to curate my classes to suit their learning needs and to teach them in the style that best suits the student. No two students are the same in how they learn best, and that is why I aim to get to know the student when I first meet them, and devise a plan to help them achieve their potential.

I have extensive notes that I work with to cover writing skills, listening skills, vocabulary and comprehension skills. When doing oral preparation, I work with students to create individual and customised notes for their own unique responses in their oral exam.

I use Google Classrooms to store all the notes, session notes and links to useful French language resources in one place. This platform also allows me to communicate with the students.

Having completed my French Leaving Cert in recent years, I am very familiar with the paper structure, topical issues that come up and recent changes since the Covid learning disruptions.
