About Andrea

I'm thrilled to share my passion for learning with you! As a South African with German roots, I bring a unique blend of cultures to our language journey.

While I may not have formal teaching qualifications, my diverse background in hospitality and administration management, combined with my virtual assistance expertise, as well as my experience in coaching, has honed my communication skills across cultures.

My love for helping others extends to teaching computer skills, apps, and languages. Despite lacking formal teaching credentials, my two years of coaching studies have equipped me with valuable skills that I apply to our tutoring sessions.

Patience is my virtue, and I take pride in making complex concepts clear and accessible, adapting my teaching style to suit your individual comprehension preferences.

With 26 years of experience in management roles, I understand the importance of effective communication in diverse environments. My organised mind and structured approach ensure our lessons progress step by step, catering to your learning style.

About the lesson

My lessons are calm, practical, and built around you. Whether you're just getting started with German or building toward an A2 or intermediate level, I’ll create customised lesson material based on your goals and daily life.

We focus on real-world topics and conversational skills, things you’ll actually use. Grammar is explained clearly and simply, only when it helps you move forward. And if Afrikaans is your home language, I’ll sometimes draw parallels to help the grammar and vocabulary feel more familiar.

You’ll never feel rushed or overwhelmed, just supported. My aim is to make German feel achievable, and fun! With regular speaking practice, useful vocabulary, and structure that matches your pace, we’ll get you communicating with confidence, one relaxed step at a time.

Perfect! As a complete beginner in German, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to learn with Andrea as my tutor. She is wonderfully patient and always takes the time to explain things clearly, no matter how many questions I ask. What I appreciate most is how she adjusts each lesson to suit my needs and pace – whether it’s slowing things down to make sure I understand or focusing on areas I find challenging.

Her teaching style makes learning German feel approachable and enjoyable, and I never feel rushed or overwhelmed. Andrea is geniunely a fantastic tutor. She tailored each lesson exactly to my needs. The lessons were challenging but always a lot of fun. She is very patient with you which really takes the fear and pressure of of learning a language. If there was a concept that I was struggling with she would go over and above and provide me with additional resources after the lesson to help me get a better understanding. The homework, quizes and notes that I received really strenghthen my comprehension of the German language. Suffice to say, you will not regret chosing her as your tutor.
