About Chris
Hi, I'm Chris Murphy! I have been a professional musician and educator for the last decade. Originally from the UK, I have lived in both Virginia and New York City in the states. I love all kinds of music from country, blues, and rock to rap, pop, and techno. I have a love of travel and new experiences, which has led me to offer online lessons, in addition to my past in person.

I have taught songwriting, guitar, and production workshops from ages 5 to 50, in New York, Virginia, and the UK.
With any student we can go in a variety of directions.
Typically with guitar I often teach students chord theory along with cover songs, with songwriting we talk about lyrics, song structure, and harmony, and with production often the technical clicks and the foundations of beat making.
I am always very adaptable, though, and have taught both privately and in classes to many levels.
