About Nicole
I have been teaching in New York State for over 10 years now. I have worked with students as young as 6th grade up to 12th grade in the school setting. I have also worked with younger students in tutoring and volunteer positions as well.
I am certified in NYS to teacher Special Education content to students in grades 7-12 and in call content areas. I am also certified to teach English Language Arts content to students in grades 7-12.
Due to the type of Special Education I have taught, I have a strong understanding of the content being taught at the upper levels and elementary levels.
Most of my tutoring focus has been on foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. However, if you are looking for more focused help, I may be able to provide it as well.

I am an experienced and dynamic Special Education teacher. I have worked with all ages, disabilities, and content areas. I pride myself on making engaging and meaningful lessons. All lessons will be tailored to the student and their need, abilities, and goals.
My lessons usually begin with with an opening activity that acts and a relationship builder as well as a way to transition into the academic mindset. Most of my sessions will involve multiple shorter activities, unless the student has a goal of working on a sustained activity for a longer period of time. Finally, I wrap up my tutoring sessions with a fun review activity or game.
