About Talara

I have taught dance and drama: including ballet, modern, jazz, tap and acrobatics in colleges, public schools and private studios to children through professional adults for over forty years. For over two decades I worked extensively in teacher training with two incomparable master teachers: the late Nenette Charisse, (teacher for Jerome Robbins, among others) and the late David Howard (teacher for Mikhail Baryshnikov and stars of ABT). My forte seems to be being able to inspire dancers while training their bodies to move in a kinesthetically correct technique, and to manage to translate advanced dance concepts to very young children, all while having FUN! I was a child actress in New York City and later had the opportunity to work with Nenette’s husband Tony award winner, Robert Tucker, (Pajama Game, etc. )and lifetime Tony award winner Shepherd Coleman (Hello Dolly, etc.) . My past students grace stages all over the world including Broadway (Beautiful, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Tap Dog, 42nd St) and the classical stage. (Aspen Ballet, Boston Ballet, Canyon Concert Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Complexions, Danish Dance Theater, Philadelphia Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet)
