About Kerri
I am a nurse educator, tutor, and NCLEX specialist with more than 24 years of nursing experience and over 10 years in higher education. My clinical background includes ICU, medical-surgical, and cardiovascular surgery nursing, which allows me to bring real-world patient care experiences into my teaching and tutoring approach. I am passionate about helping nursing students strengthen clinical reasoning, improve confidence, and succeed in nursing school and on the NCLEX through individualized and supportive learning experiences.
I strive to maintain a relatable, authentic, and optimistic approach while creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing academically. I believe every nursing student deserves the opportunity to be successful with the right support, guidance, and encouragement. Outside of nursing education, I enjoy spending time with my family and my corgis, Bean and Cricket. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, and watching movies.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping nursing students understand concepts through organized, individualized instruction. I use diagnostic quizzing, application questions, clinical judgment exercises, and Socratic teaching methods to strengthen critical thinking and identify weak areas. Sessions include targeted content review, question practice, rationale discussion, and prioritization strategies while remaining mindful of students’ learning goals and time. My lessons are designed for prelicensure nursing students, HESI preparation, and NCLEX candidates seeking support with pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, clinical judgment, and test-taking strategies.
