Basic music theory:
It's very important for a learner to understand the root of it all, where it's coming from.Such will make it easier the instrument better and in depth.
Basics of the musical instrument
The learner needs to understand each and every part of the guitar, that includes guitar strings, the neck and the frets of the guitar, etc. How every part contributes in making the guitar sound great.Such is important for maintenance purposes.
Technical development
The right hand technique :how to hold the pick and strum properly, know the different types of picking. Also learn how to pluck using fingers.h
Left hand technique, how every finger should fret on the guitar, proper fingering for playing scales and chords effectively.
How every scale and chords are played correctly using the right and left hand techniques simultaneously.
Such techniques are important to avoid unnecessary injuries on the fingers and hand and also to make the guitar sound smooth and easier to play.
Rhythm and Timing.
Making use of the metronome is very important, so that everything flows, is in sync and is played on time.
Rhythm is what makes people dance,different rhythm techniques for different styles of music will be covered.
Phrasing and Tones
The above mentioned are what will define the character of the individual within his/her playing, it determines one's feel and style in his/her musical instrument. It will help one discover their musical identity.
Music Business
Very important when it comes to making a living out of the passion ,the individual will learn how contracts work, how to negotiate rates for gigs and recording sessions, and how to protect their music once it's been recorded, ie registering their songs WITH SAMRO (South African Music Rights Organization).
