About Maria

I'm a native Spanish speaker who spent over 5 years living across the UK, from the Scottish Highlands to Wales and Bristol, and I still move between Spain and the UK today.
Honestly? I never enjoyed conventional language classes either. Too rigid, too far from real life. I learnt real English by living it... in pubs, at work, in relationships, navigating a culture that wasn't mine. That's exactly what I bring to my classes.
I have taught English in language schools and academic centres across all age groups, so I know how to adapt to different levels and learning styles. But my approach has always been the same — real conversation over theory, culture over grammar rules.
My background is anything but traditional. I studied Visual Arts, work in the cultural sector, and have trained abroad in facilitation and wellbeing. I'm a total music obsessive, a film lover and always switched on to what's happening culturally — in both Spanish and English speaking worlds.
I teach English the same way I learnt it: through real conversation, culture and the language people actually use every day.

About the lesson

My classes are 50 minutes of real, practical English — no textbooks, no boring grammar drills. We start every session with tongue twisters to train your ear and mouth, then dive into role play and real conversations based on what YOU actually need.
First class is always about you, where you're going, what you struggle with, what embarrasses you about speaking English. From there, every session is built around that.
I lived across the UK for over 5 years (the Highlands, Wales and Bristol) so I know exactly how British people actually speak, the slang they use and the cultural references they expect you to get. That's what I teach.
My goal is simple: by the end of our classes, you can walk into any English speaking situation and hold your own.
