About Khanya

Hello future students!

My name is Khanya Masumpa, and I am a passionate geography tutor with a strong background in both teaching and practical experience. Having served as a Transformation and Diversity Officer in the Student Representative Council at Northwest University, I have honed my leadership and mentorship skills. My academic journey, combined with my practical experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), equips me with a unique perspective that I bring to each lesson.
Why I Want to Tutor

I want to tutor geography because I believe that understanding our world is essential for making informed decisions and appreciating the interconnectedness of human and environmental systems. Geography isn't just about maps and locations—it's about understanding cultures, economies, and the natural forces that shape our planet. I’m eager to share my knowledge and inspire others to see the relevance of geography in everyday life, from global issues to local challenges.
What Makes Me a Great Tutor

With my experience mentoring campus DJs and leading initiatives within student governance, I’ve learned how to communicate effectively, adapt to different learning styles, and motivate individuals to reach their full potential. My lessons go beyond memorization; they are structured to inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and make learning engaging. Whether through interactive discussions, case studies, or practical GIS applications, I aim to make each session enriching and supportive.

I am here to help you succeed in your geography studies, develop a deeper understanding of the world, and build the skills needed for academic and personal growth. Let’s embark on this learning journey together with confidence, curiosity, and a commitment to excellence.

I also include question-and-answer sessions to encourage active participation and ensure comprehension.
