About Charlie

Charlie is on a mission to bring singing to the world—one laugh, one voice, one song at a time. A vivacious, London-born, classically trained singer, vocal coach, choir master and creative entrepreneur, she began her journey with a degree from the Liverpool Institute of Performing arts. Now based in New York, She has crisscrossed the pond and conquered musical challenges up and down the scale, from producing grassroots community arts projects to large-scale singing events. Over a nearly 20-year career, she has performed at the Glastonbury Festival, sung alongside Brian Eno, Ringo Starr and the Zombies and conducted a 50-person choir at Madison Square Garden.

She is the founding director of New York Choir Project, where her passion for music continues to be a force for education, well-being and change—and a chance to harmonize her way through life.

About the lesson

My students and I work together to improve vocal technique, develop performance style and build confidence. I happily coach total beginners, professional singers and everyone in between. The methods I use draw on a range of contemporary teaching concepts that aim to help you get the most out of YOUR unique voice, as opposed to trying to produce a specific, 'cookie cutter' sound. Although, if you want to work towards a particular vocal style (Broadway, studio- pop, metal etc) we can absolutely explore that too.

Ultimately, I just want to help you achieve your singing goals, whether that's to nail an audition, master your vocal runs, work towards a performance or just to crush your morning shower karaoke session!
