About Annie
I'm a neuroaffirming psychology, counselling, social work and health science academic coach. I’m passionate about helping students become more confident, independent learners.
I believe there is no one "right" way to study. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching to your individual strengths, learning style and goals. Whether you need help understanding difficult concepts, improving your academic writing, developing effective study strategies or making sense of statistics, my aim is to help you build skills that last beyond a single assignment.
I'm currently completing my Master of Clinical Psychology after graduating with First Class Honours in Psychology (undergraduate average ~90%). I also have experience marking undergraduate psychology assessments, and my honours thesis is currently being prepared for publication.
Alongside my academic background, I've worked as a university assignment marker and have years of clinical and social work experience, which I combine with my strong statistics knowledge and can support students using systems like SPSS, Jamovi and JASP.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or want to improve your grades, every lesson is tailored to your learning style, goals and individual strengths.
If you're neurodivergent, I can help you develop study strategies that work for your brain style, making study more manageable and effective. My goal is to help you become a more confident, independent learner while reducing the stress that often comes with university.
I tutor undergraduate and postgraduate health science students, with particular experience in psychology, counselling and social work.
A typical session may cover:
• Neurodivergent study coaching and learning strategies
• Essay planning and academic writing
• Thesis planning and structure
• Statistics (including SPSS, Jamovi and JASP)
• Lab reports
• APA 7 formatting and referencing
• Case analyses
• Counselling skills (including role plays with feedback)
• Proofreading against marking rubrics (24-hour turnaround available for an additional fee)
I also offer a one-off proofreading and rubric feedback service. Before your session, I'll review your assignment, assessment guide and marking rubric, then provide detailed feedback and suggestions to help strengthen your work. Feedback is delivered during a dedicated 60-minute session, allowing you to ask questions and understand how to improve your grades. This service is charged at $90 and requires at least 24 hours' notice.
You're also welcome to bring sections of your assignment into a standard tutoring session, where we can work through them together at the usual hourly rate.
Additionally, I can also help with psychology master's applications, including personal statements, interview preparation and application advice.

The free first lesson with Annie allows you to get to know the tutor and discuss your needs and expectations.

Details
Most lessons are delivered online, however if you'd prefer face-to-face tutoring, sessions can be held at your home throughout Melbourne's Inner North. Travel time is charged at my standard hourly rate.
Alternatively, we can meet free of charge at the Glenroy Community Hub (Library) or the La Trobe University Library.
