About Avela
Sawubona, my name is Avela! I am a native isiZulu speaker and a student based in Durban.
Zulu is my heart language, I grew up speaking it at home and I am passionate about sharing our beautiful language and culture with others. I love helping people connect, whether it's speaking to family, friends, colleagues, or just for fun.
I am patient, friendly and very encouraging. I know learning a new language can feel scary, so my goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident. I am also a student myself, so I understand how to explain things in a simple, clear way.

Sawubona! My lessons are relaxed, practical and focused on REAL spoken isiZulu, not just textbook grammar.
As a native speaker and student in Durban, I know how hard it is to learn Zulu - I will help you with pronunciation, clicks, greetings, everyday conversation, and understanding Zulu culture.
My methodology is simple: we talk a lot, I correct you gently, we use stories, songs, and real-life examples. Lessons are 100% personalised for your level - whether you are a complete beginner, want to speak to your partner's family, or need help with school Zulu.
