About Ginny

Hello, Ginny here. I’m a Thai tutor experienced in teaching Thai language and English as a second language to adults and children. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and minoring in Chinese (Mandarin) with first-class honors from KU of Thailand. I have found myself very passionate about languages since high school. In school I consistently received excellent grades in language subjects, and I was able to take that education and share it with others when I started teaching. I mix my education with learned experiences, taking students beyond simple book learning and into more engaging methods.

I believe that my academic Thai knowledge and my fluency in English can give you a clear explanation of anything you wish to know. Born in Thailand but living in Canada, I have an intercultural mindset and I’m familiar with all sorts of people, including students with special learning needs. I usually get feedback as being kind and patient from my students because I believe everyone has the ability to learn and achieve in what they want as long as they find the right solution and have fun with it. About the lesson

As someone with a multilingual background and multiple years of language teaching, my lessons are designed to be flexible and are tailored to the needs of my students. I can teach all ages and skill levels, whether you are an absolute beginner, a returning tourist, someone already living in Thailand wanting to strengthen your skills, or even just someone who wants to know more about Thai culture or Thailand in general. Regardless of your skill level, I can share tips and provide clear explanations that are straightforward and memorable for you to understand.

Generally, I will be teaching you step by step at your own pace so you won’t feel too overwhelmed. You will have an opportunity to practice speaking in real-life conversations and participate in interactive activities. We will cover all sorts of situations based on the goals you have set. The aim is to help learners be able to apply their knowledge and use it confidently after finishing the lessons. I will not make you learn more than you wish; we will work together to build the lesson plan that suits you best.

My standard format usually involves an hour-long dedicated session on a bi-weekly (twice a week) schedule combined with some practice work to be done between sessions. This combines dedicated assistance with long-term exposure, reinforcing learning and helping topics stick better. The lessons cover all the essentials: vocabulary, common phrases, intonation, sentence structures, grammar, and cultural context. This is, of course, flexible and can be altered to fit the needs of the student. I care more about your learning than having a set schedule; let me know what you need or if things change, and we will work together to make it happen.
