About Samar
I'm Samar, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I learnt English at a language school in Australia and then taught English to children in schools and online in Asia and South America for over two years. My husband is British, so I know the UK well and I know exactly where English speakers get stuck with Portuguese.
My lessons are light, interactive and full of energy. Think of me as the Brazilian friend who teaches you the Portuguese you'll actually hear.

Every lesson is live and online (Google Meet), 50 minutes, and built around you.
We start speaking from the very first lesson. I teach the Portuguese Brazilians really use: everyday phrases, slang, tone of voice and body language, using real situations from Rio, like ordering at the bakery, chatting at the bar, shopping at the market or talking to your partner's family.
Complete beginners: we build your first conversations step by step.
Intermediate and advanced: we work on fluency, listening to fast natural speech and sounding less like a textbook.
Materials and homework sheets are included, and times work for the UK, the USA and Australia. Your first lesson is free, so we can meet, set your goals and plan your lessons together.
