About Maria
Hello! I'm Carol, I love to learn other languages and teach Brazilian Portuguese. I'm 30 yo and a Brazilian native, I'm also a Visual Arts student, enrolled for a double diploma (honors with a teaching license) with experience with teaching in classrooms and museums.
My main goal is to create a fun and no pressure environment, so that people of all ages feel comfortable to talk and interact since the beginning. I can help your learning process with lessons personalized for your necessities and interests.

**Eclectic and culturally relevant approach**: starting from an eclectic approach, I combine techniques and methodologies that allow for understanding of the language and the cultural aspects behind it. With a variety of methods that are either more structured or spontaneous, focused on conversation or written language, I use supplementary content such as songs, excerpts from books or movies, videos, memes, or news articles.
**Confidence and independence**: I enjoy discussing ways to learn languages to give students confidence and independence in their learning journey outside the classroom.
**Focus on common Vocabulary, Expressions, and Structures**: Based on corpus research of the language and my experience as a native speaker, I aim to build knowledge from the most frequently used vocabulary in common situations.
**Free Material**: I provide class materials and notes after the lesson ends.
