About Shirley
Hello! I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and a UCL MSc Economics graduate. Before becoming a tutor, I worked in the hedge fund industry for nearly ten years, where clear communication, professionalism and organisation were essential.
I have experience teaching beginner Chinese in one-to-one online lessons. I enjoy helping students feel relaxed and confident, especially when they are starting from zero. I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging, so I am patient, encouraging and happy to adapt lessons to your pace and goals.
Whether you are learning Mandarin for travel, family, work or personal interest, I will make sure our lessons are practical, enjoyable and tailored to you.
