About Senghoarng

Hi, I'm Senghoarng, but please, just call me Hoarng! Born and raised in Cambodia, I spent my 20s living in Melbourne before returning home now. Based in Phnom Penh now.

I genuinely love teaching Khmer, and even more, I love sharing my culture with people who are curious about it.
I was a kindy tutor for Khmer & English, and I'm currently tutoring three wonderful Aussie students.

My approach is simple and always tailored to you: conversational Khmer for everyday life, script and reading for those who want to go deeper, help with translating unofficial documents, kid-friendly techniques for younger learners, and cultural insights that make the language really come alive. Flexible scheduling too!

About the lesson

Online or an in-person session if you are based in Cambodia

Each session is a mix of structure and flexibility. I'll come prepared with a focus for the lesson, but if something sparks your curiosity, we can go there.

Depending on what you're working toward, a typical lesson might include conversational practice, reading and writing in Khmer script, cultural context, or help with real-life tasks like translating documents. For younger students, I keep things light, interactive, and fun — short activities, lots of encouragement, and plenty of patience!
