About Ruth
Hello, I am a Kenyan woman in my late twenties, born and raised in the heart of East Africa, where Swahili is not a subject you study — it is the soundtrack of daily life. From the busy Nairobi streets to family gatherings, from morning greetings to late night conversations, Swahili has been woven into every chapter of my life.
I am a stay-at-home mom, and like many women balancing family and purpose, I found myself searching for something that was entirely mine — a way to contribute, to grow, and to reach beyond the walls of my home. Teaching Swahili became that something.
But my reason for teaching goes deeper than income. I am genuinely fascinated by the idea that somewhere in Germany, the United States, Japan, or Brazil, there is a person curious enough about East Africa to want to learn its language. That curiosity moves me. Language is the most human bridge there is — and I want to be the person who helps you cross it.
When you book a lesson with me, you are not just getting a grammar explanation or a vocabulary list. You are getting a real Kenyan woman who will share the stories, the expressions, the humor, and the warmth that make Swahili one of the most beautiful languages on earth. I will be patient with you, honest with you, and genuinely invested in your progress.
I may not have a formal teaching certificate — but I have something rarer. I have lived this language every single day of my life. And I cannot wait to share it with you.

Are you dreaming of speaking Swahili with confidence, holding real conversations, or simply connecting more deeply with East African culture? You have come to the right place.
I am a native Kenyan Swahili speaker, born and raised speaking the language that over 200 million people across East Africa call their own. Swahili is not just something I studied — it is the language I think in, laugh in, and live in every single day. That natural fluency is exactly what I bring into every lesson.
My lessons are designed around two core pillars: conversational Swahili and grammar. We will start by building your ability to communicate in real, everyday situations — greetings, directions, shopping, social conversations — so you feel useful progress from lesson one. Alongside that, I will give you a solid grammar foundation so you understand why Swahili works the way it does, not just memorize phrases that fade after a week.
Whether you are a complete beginner picking up your very first Swahili words, or an intermediate learner looking to clean up your grammar and sound more natural — my lessons adapt fully to where you are and where you want to go. No rigid textbook approach. No one-size-fits-all curriculum. Just clear, patient, personalized teaching rooted in authentic Kenyan Swahili.
Lessons are conducted online, making it easy for you to learn from anywhere in the world, at a time that works for your schedule. Book a trial lesson today and let us start your Swahili journey together.
