About Karen
Hi, I'm Karen! I'm originally from Tokyo and currently studying for an MSc in Computer Science in the UK. Alongside my studies, I love staying active — I'm a keen fencer, which has taught me a lot about discipline, focus, and patience, qualities I bring into my teaching too.
I've always enjoyed helping others learn, and Japanese is such a big part of my identity that sharing it feels natural to me. Whether you're aiming for an exam, preparing for work, or just want to connect more with Japanese culture, I'd love to help you get there — one step at a time, just like training for anything else you care about.

I'm a native Japanese speaker with 7 years of tutoring experience, teaching students from secondary school age through to working professionals. Last year, my students successfully passed the N3 and N4 JLPT exams. My background in operations and digital media in Tokyo means I bring real workplace context into lessons, not just textbook Japanese.
