About Noriko

Hello! I’m Noriko, a native Japanese speaker living in Japan.

For more than five years, I have taught elementary and junior high school students mathematics through private tutoring, cram schools, and online one-to-one lessons.

My teaching style is not just about giving answers. I focus on:

What you already understand
What is still unclear
What you should learn next

I use the same approach in my Japanese lessons.

When we study grammar or vocabulary, I also introduce similar expressions, related words, and examples when helpful.

I have also raised three children, so I know that everyone learns differently and at a different pace.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, but flexible.

We use textbooks and learning materials to build a strong foundation, while also using as much Japanese as possible during the lesson.

My lesson style is:

Learn the basics with structured materials
Check your understanding in Japanese
Add extra practice where needed
Use what you learn in conversation

Even beginners start using simple Japanese little by little.

★Beginners

We can study hiragana, katakana, basic grammar, vocabulary, listening, and simple conversation using textbooks such as Minna no Nihongo.

★Conversation & practical Japanese

If you know grammar and vocabulary but find it difficult to speak, we will practice using what you already know in real conversations.

We can also practice Japanese for daily life and work in Japan, such as workplace communication, shopping, restaurants, convenience stores, and public transport.

★JLPT N5–N2

We can work on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and practice questions.

We do not only check the correct answer. We also look at why you made a mistake and what you need to improve.

★News & topic discussions

For intermediate and advanced learners, we can read short articles or news and discuss topics such as culture, society, education, and everyday life.

This is a good way to build vocabulary and practice expressing your own opinions in Japanese.
