About Anese (Agnese)

I am a native Italian tutor from Rome, currently completing a PhD in Philosophy at University College Dublin (UCD). I have been living in Ireland for almost five years, after spending my whole life in Rome.

I have also worked for three semesters as a Teaching Assistant at UCD and Trinity College Dublin (TCD (teaching Wittgenstein and philosophy of language, philosophy of science, and philosophy of mind) giving me direct experience teaching and supporting university students and young adults.

My background:
I attended an American school until 8th grade, before moving to an Italian public classical high school (Liceo Classico), where I studied Ancient Greek and Latin—including literature, history and translation—alongside mathematics, literature, physics, history and philosophy.

I then studied Philosophy at Sapienza University of Rome, graduating summa cum laude in both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. My BA dissertation was on Kant and Hume on causation, and my MA dissertation was on Quine - an important American philosopher and logician of the 20th century.

What I offer:
I provide online Italian lessons for:

- Beginners, intermediate and advanced learners
- Students preparing for exams

Lessons can focus on conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and translation, depending on your goals.
I can teach and translate both from Italian into English and English into Italian, as I am completely fluent in English.

Having studied in both American and Italian educational systems, as well as having taught at UCD and TCD, I am particularly comfortable working with English-speaking students and young adults.

Whether you want to learn Italian from scratch, improve your fluency, prepare for an exam, or simply feel more confident speaking, I will tailor the lessons to your needs.
