About Sherry

＊A bit about myself＊
I am Japanese/Vietnamese, who travels between New York and Tokyo! I did the IB curriculum from kindergarten to middle school at the British International School. Then, I took a few months to prepare for entrance exams and group interviews for prestigious Japanese high schools and got accepted. For university, I went to New York. I have experience teaching adults and K-6 students, including home-schooled and blind children. Outside of teaching, I travel a lot and use my free time to be engulfed in the world of art-making, anime-watching, and reading. ※ Don't worry about the time difference; feel free to contact me, and we can find a time that works out for you!

About the lesson

As a teacher, I value TPO -- Trust, Positivity, and Objectivity.
＊Trained at international schools and after-schools -- Taught many subjects (from languages to math/sciences) to students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring each participant felt safe and engaged. ＊Worked with students of all ages in different countries remotely, on campus, and as leaders during field trips/exchange programs. Experience with different types of students: home-schooled, blind, depression/ADHD etc. I seek to provide education that is understanding, creative and empowering. I teach languages, art, and entrance exam/interview prep best. The lesson plan would be catered to the individual's needs. Feel free to reach out to me!

Perfect! I've been having lessons with Sherry for a few months now and I can confidently say it has been a positive experience. As a native speaker, she is very knowledgeable and capable at conveying real life practical uses for Japanese. I have an unconventional work schedule that changes quite frequently, and she's demonstrated flexibility in adjusting to ensure continuity of our lessons. Sherry is kind and teaches with emotional intelligence. I would definitely recommend Sherry to anyone trying to learn Japanese.

She was also nice and understanding and went over the topics I didn't understand in detail. This helped me learn very fast and very accurately.
