About Dimitris

Γεια σας! I'm Dimitris, a native Greek speaker with an international professional background and a passion for helping people communicate with greater confidence.

I was born and raised in Greece and have built my career internationally, working in data and analytics for global companies including Apple, Amazon and Uber. My work involves collaborating with people from different countries and professional backgrounds, understanding complex ideas and communicating them clearly — skills that I also bring to my lessons.

My academic background is in business, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Advanced Marketing & Management. This means I can offer something a little different from traditional language tuition: alongside everyday and conversational Greek, I can also help professionals who want to become more comfortable using Greek in a business or workplace environment.

Before moving into data and analytics, I also ran my own business and worked as an instructor, delivering both individual and corporate sessions. That experience taught me how important patience, encouragement and adapting to the person in front of you are when helping someone learn something new.

I'm approachable, curious and used to working with people from many different cultures. Whether you're learning Greek for everyday life, family, travel, work or simply because you love the language, my aim is to create a comfortable environment where you can practice, make mistakes and steadily build confidence.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one simple goal: helping you use Greek with confidence in real-life situations.

As a native Greek speaker with an international business background, I can help you improve both everyday conversational Greek and Greek for professional situations. Whether you want to feel more comfortable speaking with friends and family, prepare for a trip or life in Greece, communicate with Greek colleagues or clients, or simply become more natural and confident when speaking, we will tailor the lessons to what you actually need.

Rather than following a rigid one-size-fits-all approach, we will focus on practical conversation, pronunciation, useful vocabulary and expressions, listening and the areas of grammar that are most relevant to your goals. We can use real-life scenarios, role-playing and topics that interest you so that you practise Greek in context rather than simply memorising words.

For professionals, lessons can also focus on Business Greek, including workplace vocabulary, meetings, introductions, presentations, professional conversations and communicating confidently in a Greek-speaking business environment.

My approach is relaxed, supportive and practical. I want you to speak as much as possible, make mistakes without worrying about them, and gradually become more comfortable expressing yourself naturally in Greek.

The lessons are particularly suited to adults, conversational learners and professionals looking for a personalized and practical way to improve their Greek.

Learning Greek the effective and fun way

I started learning basic Greek on Duolingo but hit a plateau. What makes Dimitris stand out is the safe space he creates to actually speak. So many classes fall short on real communication, but his are truly conversation-focused, so you learn to actually speak, not just study theory. His easygoing personality and the real-life scenarios he picks, like ordering food or making small talk, keep every lesson fun and genuinely useful.

That’s where I gained real confidence, with any grammar questions simply elaborated on as they came up. My reading and alphabet skills improved too, but the speaking practice made the biggest difference for me.
