About Marie

My name is Marie Achaintre, and I am 18 years old. I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Leeds. I was born in London and have always lived there, but I am bilingual (German and English) due to both parents being born and having lived in Germany most of their lives. All my family (not including my parents) still live in Germany, meaning I frequently go and visit them and take part in annual German traditions. I am very enthusiastic about teaching German as it is a fun language to learn and can increase opportunities and travel destinations for the future. I structure my lessons according to the tutee's wants and needs, so my lessons usually consist of a mix of structured, in-depth learning with a bit of fun by playing some games, i.e., German quizzes and Kahoot. I studied German for GCSEs, where I received a 9, and I also studied German for my A-levels, where I received an A. Additionally, I have also worked in a primary school for roughly 5 years. This all ensures that I am very confident in my ability to teach German to any range of ages including reading, writing, speaking, listening etc.

About the lesson

As a native German teacher, not only is my German to a high standard, but I tutor for all needs. I can teach and improve German reading, speaking, writing, listening, reducing accents, etc. My virtual lessons range are 45 minutes and start with a recap of the previous session, slowly branching out into new ideas and learning, ending with any queries, and ensuring the lesson has been provided for the student successfully. I have a 9 in GCSE German. and an A in German A-level and have over 5 Years of Primary school teaching. The lessons are directed primarily for levels up to GCSE German.
