Native German speaker and tutor for students of all ages learning German as a second language

I randomly met Leon at a party lol. I was talking about wanting to learn German because I have some family there. He is a very passionate and fun tutor. He helped me go from zero knowledge to being able to hold a simple conversation in German. I knew he is still in the process of building his tutoring experience and was surprised at how organized and prepared he was.

I’ve had the opportunity to practise German with Leon and can highly recommend him as a tutor. As a native German speaker from Austria, he has an excellent grasp of the language, but what really sets him apart is his ability to make conversations engaging, natural and enjoyable.

His background as an actor brings a unique energy to his lessons. He’s expressive, encouraging and great at keeping discussions flowing, which makes speaking German feel much less intimidating. Rather than just focusing on grammar, he creates opportunities for real conversation and helps build confidence in using the language naturally.

One thing I particularly appreciate is the breadth of topics we can discuss. His interest in theatre, film, literature and the arts means that conversations are always interesting and intellectually stimulating. It’s rare to find a tutor who can help you improve your language skills while also having thoughtful discussions about culture and creative subjects.

He’s patient, personable and genuinely invested in helping people communicate more confidently. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their German in a supportive, engaging and enjoyable way.

Leon was recommended to me through a friend. He has been able to get my daughter's GCSE grade up within a couple of sessions. He is a very kind and fun and patient teacher.

I’ve learnt so much from Leon since our first lesson. As someone who loves to travel to Germany a lot, I have never felt confident in my ability to speak sentences other than ‘Guten Morgen!’ or ‘Danke’. He’s improved so much in my speaking abilities and understanding certain catchphrases than I’ll always give him credit for and couldn’t recommend any less either. Definitely a shout!

Surprisingly, not only has my son been retaining and understanding German grammar more easily but he also seems to have found more joy with it. Leon explains things easily and practically for my son to understand and he makes the lessons fun. I absolutely recommend Leon!
