About Katharina

As the daughter of two professors for German literature and language, I have grown fond of my own language from a very young age. My international outlook and many study stays abroad have made me appreciate teaching German to non-natives; not only because it allows me to look at my own language and literature from an outside angle, but also because I know from my own language learning experience that it is most valuable to learn a language from someone who is a native speaker.

I started tutoring at the age of fourteen, which has developed into a passion. Hence, I do not only have 6+ years of experience but have also developed many teaching materials which, as my past students always tell me, help particularly well with learning German and understanding the language better.

I am confident that my experience and excitement for German will enable you to reach your goals in the same way my past students have reached theirs.

About the lesson

I have tutoring experience of 6+ years and have worked with many non-native students. For this purpose, I have developed designated 'German as a Foreign Language' teaching material.

At the beginning of our tutoring journey, I develop an individual study plan that ensures you can reach your goals. The lessons are tailored to this plan and we will reflect upon the stepstones we reach with each lesson. Depending on your needs, I am able to provide the following focus paths:
- Grammar
- Vocabulary and Language
- Writing
- Speaking
- Listening
- A combination of the above tailored to your needs.

I offer lessons for all levels and ages.

I am a German native and have completed the German A-Level equivalent with the highest possible overall and German score (1.0/ equivalent to five A*). However, through my tutoring, I am also very familiar with A Level and GCSE German.
I completed my BA degree in Philosophy and Economics at LMU, Germany's highest-ranked university, with a First and am now a student at the University of Oxford.
