About Hilke
I am a qualified Primary School teacher with a LOTE (Languages Other Than English) qualification from La Trobe University. I have several years' teaching experience, some at a Melbourne bilingual school. I started tutoring my high school German teacher in English when I returned to Germany about 25 years ago, and haven't looked back since! Together we can take the journey to speak 'Deutsch'.

My teaching style is both informal and structured, as I believe that we learn best by doing. This means both speaking and listening in the target language from the outset. This approach is also the basis of 'total immersion programs, and is similar to the way we learn our first language. This makes learning both fun and stress-free.
