About Zohya
About me: I'm a native French speaker, and over the past two years I've informally tutored students in French, mostly helping beginners build their skills from the ground up. Teaching has become something I genuinely enjoy — there's nothing quite like watching a student go from struggling with basic phrases to holding a real conversation.
Why I teach: French is my native language, and I've always found it rewarding to share it with others — not just the grammar and vocabulary, but the way the language is actually spoken and used in everyday life. I want to help students move past textbook French and actually feel confident using the language, whether that's for travel, personal growth, or simply the joy of learning something new. Tutoring lets me combine something I know deeply with something I care about: helping people build real confidence, one lesson at a time.

My teaching approach centers on flexibility rather than a fixed method. Since every student learns differently, I adapt my techniques to fit you — whether that's structured grammar and vocabulary progression, conversation-focused practice, or a mix of both. We'll figure out early on what works best for you and adjust as we go.
Techniques & methodology: I combine spoken practice, vocabulary building, and real-life context (not just textbook exercises) so you're learning French the way it's actually used day to day. For beginners, I focus heavily on pronunciation, everyday phrases, and building confidence speaking early, alongside the grammar foundations you need to keep progressing.
Lesson length: Sessions typically run 60 minutes, which gives enough time to cover new material and practice it without feeling rushed — though this can be adjusted based on your pace and goals.
Experience: I'm a native French speaker with two years of tutoring experience, primarily working with beginners.
