About Samy

My name is Samy. I live in San Francisco (Richmond) and have been in the Bay Area for over 6 years. I'm offering in-person and virtual French classes for all levels. I was born and raised in the Parisian suburbs. I studied literature in high school and then went on to study and practice law for the next 15 years in both Paris and California. My unique background allows me to dive in French's many subtleties and context-specific vocabulary (business, legal, proper/day-to-day and even slang).

About the lesson

Whether you want to refine your French, maintain it, or build it from the ground up, my sessions are tailored to your needs. I believe that the best way to teach is to take on a holistic approach based on my student's personalities and learning patterns, without sacrificing structure.

Brennan has a great energy and is enthusiastic about speaking French!

Brennan has a good command of basic French and is at an intermediate level. He is able to sustain most simple/normal conversations. He makes some mistakes when it comes to the appropriate use of tenses, but it does not hinder the overall understandability of his sentences for the most part. He sometimes lack the appropriate vocabulary, but his French is good enough that he should be able to hit the ground running and improve quickly.

Possible areas for improvement:
- correct use of tenses
- improve situation-specific vocabulary
- practice speaking orally on a regular basis to solidify new grammatical concepts and keep things fresh in his mind.
