About Luke

Hi! I’m Luke, a tutor from the UK. I want to make learning English feel a little less like studying and a little more like having a conversation with a friend.

I know how frustrating it can be when you understand English but struggle to find the words when you need to speak. I’m learning Japanese myself, so I know that feeling too!

My lessons are relaxed and friendly, and you don’t need to worry about making mistakes. Mistakes are a normal part of learning, and we’ll work at your pace.

I particularly enjoy helping beginners and learners who want to become more confident speaking English — whether that’s for everyday life, travel, work or simply meeting new people.

Outside of teaching, I love travelling, exploring new places, learning about different cultures and finding a good coffee!

If you’re looking for a friendly tutor you can feel comfortable speaking English with, I’d love to meet you.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, friendly and practical.
The main goal is simple: to help you feel more comfortable actually using English

Every student is different, so we’ll focus on what you want to improve. Depending on your goals, we can work on:

* Speaking & conversation
* Pronunciation
* Vocabulary
* Everyday English
* Travel English
* English for work
* Reading

I also like using topics you’re genuinely interested in. We might talk about travel, food, films, hobbies, culture, work or everyday life — whatever gives you a reason to actually use English.

And don’t worry about making mistakes. You don’t need perfect English to have a good conversation. I’ll correct you when it’s helpful, explain why something is wrong, and give you the chance to try again without constantly interrupting you.

Most lessons are 60 minutes, but we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

My aim is simple: for you to finish each lesson feeling a little more confident than when you started.
