About Marina

Hello! My name is Marina, and I am a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker currently living in the UK. I have a passion for languages and communication, and I really enjoy helping people discover Brazilian Portuguese and Brazilian culture.

I decided to teach Portuguese because I know that learning a language can feel challenging at first, especially when you are trying to build confidence speaking. I want to create a friendly and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practising their Portuguese and making mistakes without feeling embarrassed.

As someone who has experience living between different cultures, I understand how useful it is to learn not only the language itself, but also the expressions, pronunciation and everyday ways people actually communicate. I enjoy adapting my lessons to each student and finding ways to make learning interesting and relevant to their goals.

Whether you are learning Portuguese for a trip to Brazil, your studies, work, conversation or simply because you love the language, I would be happy to help you along your learning journey!

About the lesson

My lessons focus on helping students feel comfortable and confident using Brazilian Portuguese in real-life situations. As a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, I can help students understand not only grammar and vocabulary, but also natural expressions, pronunciation and the way Portuguese is actually spoken in Brazil.

I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals and interests. For beginners, we can focus on essential vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar and useful phrases for everyday situations. For students who already have some Portuguese, I can focus more on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and improving fluency.

I like to make lessons interactive and practical, using conversations, questions, examples and exercises rather than relying only on memorisation. For travellers, we can practise situations such as ordering food, asking for directions, checking into accommodation and having everyday conversations. Lessons can also be tailored towards students who simply want to improve their conversational Portuguese.

Lessons are typically around 50–60 minutes, although the pace and activities can be adapted depending on the student’s needs.

I am a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker and have experience communicating with people from different backgrounds. I am friendly, patient and happy to work with beginners, travellers, students and anyone who would like to develop their Brazilian Portuguese skills.

Whether you are starting from zero or already know some Portuguese, my goal is to create a relaxed environment where you can practise, make mistakes and gradually become more confident speaking Brazilian Portuguese.
