About Marize

With different degrees in the humanities, and a lifetime of close proximity to teaching and languages (my mother was an Afrikaans teacher) I come full circle in tutoring in my home language. I am a conversational tutor, focusing on the student's existing strengths as a foundation for learning.

About the lesson

I am a native Afrikaans speaker with a firm grasp on Afrikaans language, writing and literature. I am a master's student with a degree in Language and Culture. My approach is colloquial and relaxed. I wish to instil a genuine interest in languages in my students even if they do not feel they have natural talent therein.

Marize is a kind, enthusiastic and very professional tutor. I really appreciate her adaptability for each student’s needs. She exhibits patience and clarity in her teaching approach. She has a deep and nuanced grasp of philosophical concepts as philosophy tutor.
Furthermore she has a deep appreciation for literary depth in English studies. Marize is a person with integrity and commitment to each student. I can whole heartedly recommend Marize as an exceptional tutor.
