About Shreeya

I am a nationally recognized competitive speaker with extensive experience in public speaking, rhetoric, and oral expression. I am a 2x National Qualifier through NSDA, a qualifier for major national tournaments including NEITOC, the Tournament of Champions (TOC), and NCFL Nationals, a 3x State Qualifier, a District Champion, and a 2x Regional Champion in Informative Speaking. I am also currently ranked 19th in the nation in Expository Speaking.

Through years of competitive speaking, I have developed strong skills in speech writing, research, delivery, storytelling, and audience engagement. My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence while developing their own unique speaking style. I create a supportive and practical learning environment where students can improve through personalized feedback, hands-on practice, and techniques that helped me succeed at the national level.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered around creating an engaging, comfortable, and practical learning environment where students actively develop their communication skills. I believe public speaking is learned through practice and reflection rather than just studying theory, which is why my lessons focus on conversations, hands-on activities, practice speeches, and personalized feedback. A typical lesson begins by understanding a student's goals and challenges, followed by focusing on skills such as speech organization, storytelling, delivery, vocal variety, body language, and rhetorical techniques. Students immediately apply what they learn through speaking exercises, allowing them to build confidence while improving in real time.

What sets my teaching style apart is my ability to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and improving. As a nationally ranked competitive speaker (19th in the nation in Expository Speaking), speech captain, and national qualifier, I bring firsthand experience in research, writing, performance, and effective communication. My lessons are designed for students of all levels, whether they are beginners looking to overcome public speaking anxiety or advanced speakers hoping to refine their rhetoric, delivery, and competitive speaking skills. My goal is to make each session feel engaging and productive so students leave feeling more confident than when they started.
