About Sathmi
Hello! My name is Sathmi, and I am a passionate and dedicated French teacher from Sri Lanka. I have taught in international schools, where I worked with students of different ages, backgrounds, and learning styles. This experience helped me develop a strong understanding of how to teach French in a clear, friendly, and effective way. I also conduct private and group classes physical and online, teaching children, teenagers, and adults. I have completed DELF A1 and A2, and I am currently studying DELF B1 while preparing for B2 at the Alliance Française de Colombo. I believe that learning a language is a continuous journey, so I always update my methods and improve my own skills to give my students the best learning experience. Alongside teaching, I am also studying psychology, which helps me understand my students better, how they learn, what motivates them, and how to build their confidence. This knowledge allows me to create lessons that are more personalized, supportive, and encouraging. My teaching style is calm, patient, and interactive. I focus on making lessons enjoyable and easy to follow, using visuals, activities, dialogues, and practical examples. I prepare students for DELF exams, Cambridge/Edexcel syllabi, and general French for travel or personal interest. My goal is to help each student feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress. I believe that with the right guidance and a positive learning environment, anyone can succeed in French.
