As an English tutor, I have a student-centered and communicative approach to teaching. I believe that learning a language is not only about memorizing rules and words, but also about using them in real-life situations. I share my knowledge with my students by providing them with feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
My teaching method and techniques vary depending on the needs and goals of each student. However, some common elements are:
- A needs analysis and a placement test to determine the student's level and objectives
- A personalized syllabus and lesson plan based on the student's interests and preferences
- A balance of skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and systems (grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation)
- A variety of activities and materials, such as books, videos, podcasts, games, and quizzes, to make the lessons fun and engaging
- A focus on communication and interaction, using authentic and meaningful language
- A regular assessment and evaluation of the student's progress and performance
- A review and reinforcement of the learned content
A typical lesson plan consists of three main stages: presentation, practice, and production. In the presentation stage, I introduce the topic and the language point of the lesson, using examples and explanations. In the practice stage, I check the student's understanding and accuracy, using exercises and drills. In the production stage, I encourage the student to use the language fluently and creatively, using tasks and projects.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion and enthusiasm for teaching and learning. I always try to create a positive and supportive learning environment, where the student feels comfortable and confident. I also try to motivate and inspire the student, by showing them the benefits and joys of learning English. I am always open to feedback and suggestions, and I constantly seek to improve my teaching skills and techniques.
My lessons are for anyone who wants to learn English, regardless of their degree, level, class, or specificities. I can teach students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced, in various domains and settings. I can help students prepare for exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge, or for academic or professional purposes. I can also help students improve their conversational skills, their fluency, and their confidence. I can adapt my lessons to the student's learning style, pace, and personality.
