My name is Andy, and I am born in Germany. I lived there for 25 years, almost as long as I live here, here in Austin TX. I love to talk with people, almost as much as teaching my mother language.

About Andreas
I experience both hearing challenges and a form of dyslexia (Lese-Rechtschreibschwäche), so I know firsthand how important it is to see a word written clearly, to understand its phonetic structure, and to build literacy from both visual and phonetic angles.
For example, in Spanish, if I read the word, I can often spell it phonetically, even if I didn’t hear it correctly. The same is true for German. That’s why I believe in teaching languages not just through listening, but through a strong connection between reading, spelling, and pronunciation.
I want to offer that same kind of structured, accessible learning to my students—especially those who might struggle like I did. My goal is to help them understand how the language works from the ground up, using their strengths, whether that’s visual memory, logical structure, or pattern recognition.
