About Alexis

Hi, my name is Alexis, I am 20 years old and I am a 3rd year studying Medicine at the University of Cambridge. I am originally from France but was born and raised in the US before moving to Cambridge 9 years ago. In my spare time, I am an avid climber, fencer, and runner!

Ultimately, I went into Medicine for the balance that it strikes between patient contact and application of scientific knowledge. Past experiences have shown this to be analogous to tutoring, which I found both enjoyable and immensely rewarding. I strive to help students that share my passion for Medicine by maximise their chances of getting into medical school.

About the lesson

I help prospective medical students ace their BMAT through 1-to-1 tutoring, whilst additionally offering interview practice as well as detailed personal statement feedback. More generally, I am also happy to spend some time giving general advice on the Medicine application process (e.g. work experience and university choices).

My lessons are engaging and interactive as I ask my students questions regularly, ensuring they are engaged and actively learning, whilst maintaining a safe and comfortable environment where students are not afraid to ask questions themselves.

Having attended BMAT training courses and subsequently achieving a top 1% national BMAT score across Sections 1 and 2, I know the tips and tricks to crushing come the exam. Furthermore, studying at the University of Cambridge, 50% of my exams are essay-based and so I am particularly qualified to give advice on how to stand out to other candidates in Section 3.

I have plenty of past experience tutoring students, having volunteered to teach GCSE Maths to students with learning difficulties at a local secondary school, as well as helping students of my sixth form’s medical society with their Medical applications.
