About Gayathri
I have been dancing since the age of 7. My journey began with initial training under the guidance of the late Kalamandalam Beena Narayanan. After completing my schooling, I decided to join Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai to take up dancing as my profession. Kalakshetra's rigorous and disciplined training helped me hone my skills and deepen my understanding of Bharatanatyam.
Following my time at Kalakshetra, I pursued a master's degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras, where I further refined my technique and explored the theoretical aspects of the dance form.
I have a deep passion for teaching and take immense joy in sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my journey. Teaching allows me to connect with students, inspire them, and contribute to their growth as dancers. I offer classes at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and guidance based on their skill level and progress.

I practice the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam. The classes will start from the basic level and will be very beginner-friendly. I will be teaching warm-up exercises and the prayer shloka, then moving on to namaskaram and the basic adavus of Bharatanatyam. The curriculum changes depending on the student's level. I offer classes at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
